Hope Everett is senior counsel in the litigation section of Roberts Markel Weinberg Butler Hailey PC. Prior to joining RMWBH, Ms. Everett exclusively focused her career on assisting CPAs and CPA firms with litigation, regulatory, and advisory services. Ms. Everett has defended clients throughout Texas in federal and state court and has also appeared before the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy and the State Office of Administrative Hearings. She has extensive and wide-ranging experience not only in defending malpractice claims, but also in providing assistance to firms in the areas of subpoenas, confidentiality issues, non-compete agreements, and engagement letters.
Before she began representing accountants and accounting firms, Ms. Everett started her legal career as a criminal defense attorney. While in law school at South Texas College of Law, Ms. Everett competed in the school's advocacy program, focusing on mock trial. During law school she also interned at the Harris County Public Defender's office and at the Actual Innocence Project of Texas.
